Cisco Nexus 1010 Virtual Services Appliance High Availability application accelerator

The Cisco Nexus 1010 Virtual Services Appliance is a member of the Cisco Nexus 1000V series switches. It hosts the Cisco Nexus 1000V Virtual Supervisor Module (VSM), Cisco Virtual Security Gateway (VSG) for Nexus 1000V series switch virtual service blade (VSB), and Cisco Prime Network Analysis Module (NAM) for Nexus 1010 VSB to provide a comprehensive solution for virtual access switching.

Cisco Nexus 1010 offers availability features for large-scale networking. Within a single appliance Cisco Nexus 1010 offers process-level availability conferred by the modular nature of NX-OS, as well as Virtual Service Blade availability features such as restart-on-failure. Cisco Nexus 1000V switch VSM active/standby high availability is fully supported on Cisco Nexus 1010. Finally, with dual Cisco Nexus 1010 appliances deployed in a high availability cluster, active/standby failover of Cisco Nexus 1010 Manager and Virtual Service Blades are supported.
